Halloween is on the way and we love to decorate our house with lots of fun and cute spooky decorations. As part of all the Halloween festivities we are often searching for activities that we can do with young children or grandchildren but are also fun for us adults to join in with (sorry but coloring paper plates starts to get a little repetitive year after year!).
This year we were inspired by a project that we saw that looked easy, fun, gave great results and looked cheap to make – ‘Spooky’ Mason Jar candle holders. This project is a perfect at home craft or would be great to do at a school or church halloween party or at your own halloween party!
Here’s how we went about making these as well as our estimated cost and a rough estimate as to how long this took to complete.

DO: Sock it to ‘Em! Use an old (but clean) sock to really get into all the little details of your piece. There is nothing worse than little bits of fiber or lint stuck in the surface of your otherwise perfect gloss or matte. Grammies Furniture Paint recently held a ‘Cork It’ Wine Pong Class at Fenton Winery & Brewery and we had so much fun teaching the ladies how to create their very own ‘Cork-It’ game.

What a perfect place to hold our ‘Cork It” Wine Pong Class! The Fenton Winery & Brewery is a locally owned microbrewery and the perfect setting to get the ladies into the a “wine” mindset.
And what lovely ladies we had joining our class for the evening. We couldn’t have been more impressed with the creativity that went into each of their designs! Not only is ‘Cork-It’ a fun game, but the finished product that all of these ladies completed ended up looking like works of art that could make a nice addition to any home’s decor. ‘Cork-It’ Wine Pong is such a fun game to play with friends, and all who attended the class were excited to take their game home and spread the fun.

Spring has sprung here in Michigan! There is always something so motivating about the extra sunshine, warmer temperatures, and longer days! It seems that everyone gets the itch to tackle spring projects around the house. Whether it’s cleaning out the basement, reorganizing the garage, or tackling cosmetic stuff around the house, Spring chores are on everyone’s radar this time of year.
One of the bigger and more costly projects to tackle in home projects is the kitchen. If you’ve been in your house for any length of time or recently purchased an older home, you may have those “heavenly” builder-grade oak cabinets that were so popular in the 80’s and 90’s! We’re not sure who thought those cabinets ever looked beautiful, but somebody did and they managed to appear in just about every house built during that time. It’s been a very snowy winter in Michigan and one of the only things that has helped banish the winter blues for us has been staying entertained with friends on the weekends! There’s nothing better than laughing and hanging with your besties and we’ve been blessed with some of the best!!
At one of our most recent gatherings, I introduced a new game to my friends! It’s been so fun and entertaining and we are totally addicted! The game is called ‘Cork It’ Wine Pong, and it’s basically a wine-lovers take on beer pong. The best part is that I actually made the game board myself! The gist of the game is seeing who can land the most wine corks inside the wine glasses on the board! It’s quite a challenge to get those corks to land in the right spot, especially when you factor in wine consumption!! (We have to collect those wine corks to play the game somehow, don’t we?!?!)
